Reimagining Safety Michigan Kick-Off + Training

Join us as we publicly launch Reimagining Safety Michigan’s work to advance abolition across the state of Michigan. At this gathering, we will share about who we are, what we’re up to in 2026, while offering training on our new platform and toolkit.

Who is this for? We invite anyone who is interested in making abolition a reality in our state and would like to learn about our work! We ask people to be in attendance for the full time due to the training, if possible. 

What is the training?The kick-off includes training to equip community leaders and organizers on the Reimagining Safety Michigan platform and toolkit for abolition in Michigan. The toolkit includes various tools, including a priorities list, a vision for transformative Michigan, a rubric for how to evaluate candidates based on abolitionist values, and how to apply all of this into your local context. The training will incorporate a series of exercises including, grounding techniques, the art of facilitation and in depth discussion.
